PAPER CUTs:
the art of Psaligraphy

I discovered somewhat of a calling with an X-acto knife in high school when I set to work on a 3D ferris wheel made entirely of black paper. The wheel eventually disintegrated under its own weight and its gradual demise proved to be a rather fascinating performance piece. Though I didn’t restore it, and might’ve told people I planned its slow melt, but I did develop an affinity for paper-cutting and the spectacle of creating through subtracting. Since the ferris wheel, I made one other 3D project – a three-layered steampunk clock – before becoming intrigued by cursive shadows and white paper on black ink.

Below are some of the past and more recent projects I conceptualised and constructed. I hope you find them as interesting to observe as I did to create.
